He was director of EET from March 2003 to February 2009. Previously, he had been deputy director under the directors José Santos and Antonio Pena.
The most important events of this stage were the completion of the second phase of the building, the implementation of the 3 degrees in Telecommunication Engineering and the incorporation of the quality assurance systems for teaching and previous work for the adaptation of the degrees to the European Higher Education Area, especially the participation as part of the executive committee that prepared the White Paper on Telecommunications.
From the teaching point of view, the teaching of Course 0 for new students and the professional orientation training course “Exercising the Profession of Engineer” for senior students were consolidated.
In terms of research, the research capabilities of the School were made known with activities such as publishing an annual book with the summaries of all the projects read during the year or publishing the book “20 years of Telecommunications in Galicia”, taking advantage of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the creation of the School, which were disseminated among Galician companies and institutions.
