This edition, organized for the first time by the Department of Telematics Engineering of the EET, served to share the latest developments in this area of knowledge. The conference was coordinated by EET professors José Juan Pazos Arias, Manuel Ramos Cabrer, Luis Anido Rifón, Manuel Fernández Veiga and Francisco Javier González Castaño. They addressed issues such as data protection on the Internet, advances in digital television and in the field of network systems, and encouraged discussion on teaching methods in this area.
With more than 120 people registered, conferences, demonstrations and round tables were organized, with the participation of companies from the sector, such as Alcatel, Teldat and Comunital. The program was completed with the National R&D Plan monitoring sessions, where several researchers financed by the Ministry of Science and Technology defended the validity of their projects before a commission of experts.
