To commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls in ICT, the School will host the “Elas Fan TIC” event next Friday, March 6, 2026. The aim is to raise awareness of technology and engineering careers so that younger students can consider them as a future option.
The event, which will involve 45 pupils from 5th and 6th grade of primary education from CEIP Plurilingüe Sobreira-Valadares and CEIP Fonte Escura, will consist of a programming and robotics workshop led by female students from the School of Telecommunication Engineering. The programme is as follows:
09:30–09:45 – Welcome session (at the School stands)
09:45–11:00 – First workshop: one group will attend the CuteBot workshop (Board Room) and the other the Coding workshop (Lab AS03)
11:00–11:30 – Break (snack at the stands)
11:30–12:45 – Second workshop: groups switch workshops
12:45–13:15 – Interactive talk in the Board Room
13:15–13:30 – Group photo at the stands and closing
