On September 1, 2009 he began his term of office after being appointed by a Board of Trustees with representation from the Ministry of Defense, the Navy and the University of Vigo. His term of office ended on July 13, 2020.
The CUD-ENM is a public university center, owned by the Ministry of Defense and attached to the University of Vigo. Its main mission is to participate in the comprehensive training of future Navy officers. In particular, it is responsible for teaching the degree received by the students (Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering), while the Naval Military School provides the specific military training.
The Bachelor’s Degree taught by CUD-ENM renewed its accreditation in 2016 and obtained the EUR-ACE international seal of quality in 2020. The center also has an agreement with the Fulbright Commission that allows a U.S. professor to visit the center each year. Also, and since the 2019-2020 academic year, the CUD-ENM teaches the Master’s Degree in ICT Management for Defense.
