Under the coordination of our colleague Ana Fernández Vilas, the project Green-Tech-WB: Smart and Green technologies for innovative and sustainCable societies in Western Balkans, financed by the European Union, under the Erasmus Mundus and External Cooperation, action 2, promoted by the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency), was launched.
This was the second and last project of this call coordinated from the University of Vigo (the first one was also promoted by the School). With a budget of nearly three million euros, a consortium of 20 universities (8 European and 12 from the Western Balkans) and a duration of four years, it focused on higher education training in the field of green technologies. The 154 mobilities (students, teachers and researchers) managed during this project allowed to improve the training of PhD students, post-docs and research staff, encouraging the definition of new initiatives within this call in the following years.
