Fernando Perez Gonzalez, professor of the School, was named Fellow Member of the IEEE, a distinction reserved only for the most outstanding people of this association and which is the highest honor that can be achieved by someone belonging to the institute. This distinction comes to Fernando Perez after more than 20 years dedicated to applied research in the field of Telecommunication, specifically in the areas of Digital Communications and Multimedia Security.
The number of new Fellows elected each year cannot exceed 0.1% of the organization’s membership, reaching 9500 worldwide in 2016, out of a total of more than 420,000 members from 160 countries.
