Under the slogan “Promoting personal autonomy”, the first edition of this conference aimed to provide direct contact between groups of people with specific needs and specialists in Engineering and Technology working on the development of processes, systems or devices that help to mitigate the barriers to digital access for those who need it. With an attendance of more than 85 people, and presentations by leading researchers and associations in the field, it was an opportunity to highlight the influence that ICTs have on society. The success achieved allowed a second edition to be held, also at EET, in 2011.
