This day is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of April and was established in 2010 by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations agency specialised in telecommunication. Its objective is to encourage technological vocations in women and girls, as well as to reduce the gender digital gap.
On February 21, we will celebrate this event with an act aimed at primary school students. In this act, which takes place at the Telecommunication Engineering School, the boys and girls participate in a programming and robotics workshop led by female students of Telecommunication Engineering, coordinated by the person who serves as the Equality liaison for the center. This activity is sponsored by the Indra Chair.
In the 2025 edition, we will be visited by 60 girls and boys from Javier Sensat and San Xosé da Guía schools.
