The EDIY project ( European Industral Doctorate in Indium Phosphide integrated Technologies, MSCA-ITN-EID-2018-813467), a European Industrial Doctorate in the field of integrated photonics, awarded within the Marie Curie Actions of European Training Networks ( ITN) in the framework of the H2020 call begins in May 2019.
For the first time a team from UVigo, led by our colleague from EET, Francisco Javier Díaz Otero, coordinates a project of this call. With a consortium of five entities, a budget of one million euros and a period of action of 4 years, it aims to train eight researchers and researchers Thursday in the field of integrated photonics, promoting its application in industry through the development of new kits and software simulation tools to facilitate their integration. The people participating in this program will be trained at all levels within the photonics ecosystem and will interact with leading European companies in this field.
The success of this work allowed that, in October 2020, the same EET team managed to be at the forefront of another European Industrial PhD funded under the same call: DRIVE- In ( Integrated Photonics fuere the next generation of autonomous Vehicles using InP technologies, DRIVE- In- EID-2018-860763).
