University professor José J. Pazos Arias joins the Galician Royal Academy of Sciences, which Fernando Pérez González had joined two years earlier.
In his own words, “Personally, I feel very honored that an institution of the prestige of the RAGC recognized my academic and research career in the field of ICTs, naming me Numerary Scholar of the Technical Sciences Section. I also understand it as a recognition to all the people with whom I worked throughout my academic life and to the good work of the Telecommunication Department of the University of Vigo in its research and transfer activities. Belonging to the Academy opens for me a possibility to contribute to the promotion of science and technology, through the dissemination of culture and scientific values, as the best way to enhance the social and economic development of Galicia.”
